I hate finding a new stylist but I had to since I moved here and I'm not moving anytime soon. I looked up reviews and found Rock Paper Scissors salon. The reviews seemed promising so I went in to meet with Magie. I had been wanting to go to a natural redhead look; I'm a brunette. I've tried a couple times, but it's never been a natural redhead, more a punky red or auburn. I explained to her what I wanted, showed her a picture, and asked if she could do it. She was confident in it, so I set up an appointment. She lightened and colored my hair, and we ombred the front with blond for dimension, as well. She was amazing, and it looks PERFECT!!! I'm so excited with it. It looks natural, and I'm so in love with it!!! She will always be the one doing my hair from now on! If you want someone who listens to what you want and does an amazing job, Magie Bates is your girl.

When Katina moved to Rock Paper Scissors earlier this year, I was a little concerned about traffic since the salon is located so close to the dorms and on "the other side of campus" from home. However, I love this salon! In fact, getting in and out of Stubbeman is great...Even when school started back up this fall, parking was easy. In addition to great parking, the layout of the salon works really well, and even when it's busy, there's enough space between the stylists that it doesn't seem noisy. The salon has a relaxed, laid back feel. Katina has been my stylist for about four years now and she is FANTASTIC! I do get lots of compliments on my hair and I recommend her without hesitation. I like to change my hairstyle rather frequently, and even with my cantankerous locks, Kat keeps me look great whether they're super-short or growing out. She takes her time to listen to what I want, explains when something may not work for me, and offers up suggestions. She really listens and asks questions to clarify what I'm asking for. I REALLY appreciate that since it can be hard to explain exactly what is in your mind's eye... No matter what the final product, she makes me look great! Too, she is GREAT about staying on schedule, which seems rare in the industry. I am so grateful for Rock Paper Scissors and Katina. It's a win-win.

I got a haircut with Jenni yesterday. My hair was long, sitting well past my shoulders, and very curly. It now sits at my jawline in almost a modified, stacked bob...and I couldn't be happier with it! I wanted something short and fun, but still appropriate for work and Jenni delivered. She has a strong knowledge of the special needs of curly hair. She created a short hairstyle that is low maintenance while looking like I put some effort into it that is also flattering on my BBW face and frame. Softer ladies, I experienced NO judgement or body shaming! Long story short, Jenni was professional and friendly and projected a confidence that set me at ease in her chair while having the skill to back up her confidence. I will definitely see her again!

I started seeing Andrea about a year ago at the 12th street location. I had long mermaid hair and she cut it off into a pixie/bob type deal. I absolutely LOVED how she took my vision from a picture and made it unique for me. I followed Andrea to the campus location and she's worked wonders with my hair. We've been through bleaching, several different colors, and now she's helped make me gray! Andrea is an absolute wizard. She knows exactly what I want from my really vague descriptions and she's up for anything. If you want a super fun, professional, knowledgeable, capable stylist, Andrea is for you! She is the best stylist I have ever had and I absolutely adore her!

Recently I re-watched The Talented Mr. Ripley on Netflix. As I was watching the movie I noticed something I did not the first time I saw it years ago. In a flash of realization, I noticed that Jude Law and I share the exact same hairline. Moreover, I also began to take note of what a fantastic Ivy Style of Radical Conformity he sported in the film. At that moment I realized that with the right professional styling assistance that I too might be able to pull off Dickie Greenleaf's look. Correspondingly, I called around to some of my friends to find the top salons. A few trusted people pointed me to Rock Paper Scissor's so I set an appointment. I brought in the photo of the look I was going for and needless to say they NAILED IT! Since enlisting their help to achieve this new look I have never felt so on top my hairstyle game. Now I would decamp to the decadence of Europe with no plans of returning, however I don't think I would trust anyone else to keep my Dickie Greenleaf haircut tuned in but Rock Paper Scissor! Thanks guys, I will definitely be back!
